Lindiwe Maxolo has been involved with many different styles of music but her main focus remains with Jazz and African music. Lindiwe Maxolo was born and bred in the then Vaal Triangle which is now called Sedibeng. With a background that was rooted in church music, Ms Maxolo felt the need to take her musicianship to a higher level by studying music formally. Currently busy with her Masters degree at Wits.Lindiwe Maxolo has, for some years now, been working very hard towards establishing herself as a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. This is beginning to bear fruit when you look at some of the stages that she has already graced within South Africa and Internationally. She was invited to share the stage with the Legendary Dave Grusin and Lee Ritenour. She has worked with some of the top South African musicians such as Sibongile Khumalo, Black Coffee, Feya Faku, Andile Yenana, to name but a few.Outside of Lindiwe Maxolo’s solo career, she is also part member of two premier South African Jazz groups namely; Three Steps Within and Acoustic Souls.THREE STEPS WITHIN is a Musical Collaboration by 3 well established South Africa Musicians, McCoy Mrubata (Saxes & Flute), Lindiwe Maxolo (Voice) & Concord Nkabinde (Bass & Voice). TSW draws from the familiar history of our Musical Heritage and journeys through the Present Experience in order to find our Future Voices.Musically, THREE STEPS WITHIN continues to explore with interesting ideas that combine theOld with the Current in order to create Future sounds.
