I was born into a musical family and started out as a backing vocalist for my brothers Blondie and Pappa Makhene touring with them all over Africa from age 18 until my calling into ministry.

I have always been involved in different projects and my first official project – Wind of Change, was established in 1985 and our first CD recording was released 1995, which was the first Gospel group at the time and of its kind to win the Shell Road to Fame competition in the early nineties. During this time, I was the Praise and Worship leader amongst others at Grace Bible Church under the leadership of Bishop Mosa & Pastor Gege Sono, one of the biggest churches in Soweto currently where I was groomed for 17 years.

My experience in music is extensive and I have had the honor to travel abroad and minister musically in major churches, alongside great man and women of God such as renowned Christian author, John Maxwell as well as around the continent.

Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with some of the well-known names in the industry both locally and abroad, among others, Trevor Sampson, Lionel Petersen, Janine Price, Mthunzi Namba, Chris Ellom (Smile Africa project) and the Billy Graham worship Team, Donny Mcclurkin and Cece Winans in 2013 when they were in South Africa,(but to name a few), however a substantial amount of my work was also community upliftment, which is my passion (i.e. working with aspiring singers(most from disadvantaged backgrounds), to not only hone their skills but to also give them a platform to practice what they had learned and to grow in this calling of discipleship thru the medium of music).

Since the recording of my debut album, titled “My Desire” in 2013 I have enjoyed multiple air play on radio stations such as Metro FM, Rainbow FM and Capricorn FM, Alex FM to name a few.

2 THE PROJECT – MY DESIRE

This project was born out of many years of performing on stages and this has instilled the necessary knowledge, skill and a keen sense of professionalism, appreciation for the challenges, experiences and sacrifices required to survive the music industry; moreover, the paramount discipline needed in presenting the genre of contemporary Gospel (and that not only as a minister of the gospel but in my personal life).

I’ve been privileged to work on the album with Bafana Nkosi from the SAMA award winning group - Redeemed, who has written and worked with people such as Solly Mahlangu, Benjamin Dube and Mojalefa Thebe; also members of Redeemed. He has also produced a gospel group called Crown of Glory. Bafana just captured the vision immediately as we were still in the planning stages and was able to help me put my heart on the album.

The album is a very personal project - it speaks to the hearts of those who have experienced difficulty and have no desire to continue -“but having done all, to stand”- according to Ephesians 6:10”. It speaks to those who just want to say- “Thank you”; for all that God has done for them - DESPITE

It took us 6 Months to complete the album, and this did not come without any difficulty and challenges.

Plans for a second, third, and more, in the near future - locally, North Africa and abroad, are on the cards - God willing. My second recording will be held at House of Treasures Ministries in Kibler Park on the 5th December 2015.
