Eastern Cape: Josh Cele
Born in KwaNdengezi, KwaZulu Natal, to the late Edmund Khoni Cele and Mavis Feziwe Cele (still alive), Josh would later relocate to the Eastern Cape in the mid-90s. This is where he participated in choral music and choristered the young Maskhule Choir (1996). After that choir he joined a male voice called Heavenly Singers. When the Heavenly Singers dismantled in the year 2002 he formed the Crucified Quartet around year 2003 together with his peers and sang with them till he decided to do solo work in 2007.

He has since recorded 2 albums as a soloist and his music is purely gospel infused with jazz, country and pop elements. This is obviously influenced by the variety of music genres he was exposed to growing up in the streets of KwaNdengezi and Mthatha. His second album was nominated for the 2016 Ingoma Awards. He’s currently embarking on his third album.

He is a passionate artist who is always trying to find new ways to add value to the audiences he sings for. He is about creating unforgettable experiences for his fans whenever they listen to music or attend his concerts. With such talent at his disposal, it’s definitely safe to say the world ain’t seen nothing yet. His best is yet to come
