Sisanda Nilsson

KwaZulu Natal:
Sisanda Nilsson was born in the Eastern Cape in eMfundisweni but she grew up in KZN, Margate. Her family moved to KZN when she was only 5 years of age in the year 1991. She began her music career when she entered a competition which eventually took her to Los Angeles to represent South Africa to the world. She knew after that, that music was what she wanted and needed to do as she felt it was her calling in life. She couldn’t carry on with her music for a while after the competition as she had to focus on her studies as she was only 16 years old at the time. After matric Sisanda Nilsson ventured into the world of volunteer work and traveled Africa until she decided to take up her singing and songwriting career again in 2011. In the year 2014 she was discovered by Mdu Ngcobo the owner of Touch Africa Records and was since then signed immediately by the label. She has been working hard to build and further her career in the music industry. She has managed to win the hearts of many South Africans and Europeans through her talent.

She has performed on some of South Africa and Europe’s biggest stages such as the Ugu Jazz Festival, Durban Jazz Festival, Frizon and many more. Sisanda Nilsson’s down to earth personality and ability to connect with people has made her who she is today. She is a strategist and a hard worker. She is someone who knows what she wants to achieve in life. We are proud to call her South African because she represents us everywhere she goes in the world and mostly she is a representation of a new South Africa.
