Ayanda Jiya

Ayanda Jiya is a versatile songstress from Klerksdorp, North West. Born in 1987, she always had a burning desire for music and singing.
From the age of 6, Ayanda was singing her heart out at any present opportunity.

She is influenced by alot of genres, mostly Gospel, Jazz, Neo Soul and RnB. With a family who supported her talent, she was nurtured
in the comfort of her home to become a musician and an exceptional songwriter. 2007 she met Magalela Mtshali aka Wax Lyrikal a rapper and beat maker.
When he heard her sing, he was inspired to create beats well suited for her vocal range and they began working together. Later that year she was introduced to Jsmallz. He had a little studio at his apartment where she finally recorded her very first song entitled “Rescue Me”.

He loved her vocal ability and started working closely with her and recorded many more songs with her. Her love for music and becoming better at her craft began to grow even more. In 2010, Wax introduced Ayanda to Miso Tini who owned a music studio too. He worked with Michael Sathekge aka Dotcom and they created beats for most rappers in Gauteng.
When Miso heard her sing he then took things to a greater level. Michael and Wax created more beats for her and let her write over them.
Later on that year, she released a single entitled “Don’t Let Me Go” Produced by Wax Lyrikal. Right after that she wrote another song entitled “Im Grateful” produced by Dotcom and the response was remarkable. Because she was still in school she decided to put the music scene on hold till she completed her Diploma in Graphic Design. In 2013 she went back to studio and worked. Released her single “Happier Alone” and shot a video for it. She then continued to work on her EP entitled Very Intimate Conversations (V.I.C)
it was then launched in May 18 2014 at the State Theatre.
